Park Plantings
- Partnership with the Detroit Recreation Department
The Greening of Detroit worked with the Detroit Recreation Department to update Tolan Park, located near Chrysler Freeway and Mack Avenue. The City installed new playground equipment, sports equipment, and picnic tables, benches and grills. The Greening joined together with the recreation department to design an improved landscaping plan that included trees and shrubs, and then our volunteers and community partners moved in to plant 42 new trees, plants, and all landscaping upgrades. Together, these major renovations at Tolan Park have increased public safety at the park, and improved the quality of life for residents in the neighborhood.
