The Greening of Detroit Park in honor of Elizabeth Gordon Sachs

The Elizabeth Gordon Sachs Park, adopted and renamed in 1996, is the result of a five year development and landscape plan undertaken by The Greening of Detroit. The park is an ongoing work of art, and features a large butterfly garden, a memorial tree grove and an educational pavilion. The park, which is maintained without the use of chemicals which could harm the environment or the nearby Detroit River, is cared for each summer by a legion of volunteers, The Greening of Detroit's Green Corps and the Detroit Recreation Department
